About

About Img 1It’s time to focus on YOU!

While constantly in survival mode, it’s hard to thrive. Having to “be on” all the time gives you no time or reason to focus on what you want – peace and passion! You don’t have the effort to expend on self-inventory because all your energy is spent on smoldering fires of relationships, family, friends, trauma, and work.

Here, you can exhale! In therapy, you have full permission to be selfish because it’s all about you. In this space, you can finally focus on the things that matter to you!

When you heal and resolve issues affecting your ability to move toward your ideal life, you will become more energized, confident in overcoming obstacles, and optimistic about your future

In this space – there is understanding and support.

I truly aim to hear and understand you during our work together. There will be no judgment, and anything that goes on in therapy is confidential.

Don’t worry about your story being “thrown back in your face” or used as a weapon against you. This response occurs when you share with those who don’t appreciate what you are going through. Therapy is different because you will find the support you need and experience being heard and understood here.

We will work on a tailored plan for you and your situation. I will hear you, see you, and celebrate your progress! I will also support you through your disappointments and be your soft place to land when things are not going well.

Whatever’s zapping your energy, creativity, and passion, I can help!

About Sinami

HeadshotHello, it is nice to meet you.

The name Sinami sounds like the Japanese word for the title wave, Tsunami, but it is Swahili, meaning pretty and sassy 😊!

I believe my journey as a therapist began as a little girl sitting on the porch with my grandmother. We watched people go about their daily lives as we tried to make meaning of their actions. My first job in college was at a group home for pregnant teenage girls. I could relate so much that I decided to change my major from math to sociology. During my college career, I worked full-time and raised a family.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 22 years experience helping families struggling with a variety of issues, individually and as a family.

Now my children are grown and gone 😅. After 20 years of working in government mental health settings, I now spend most of my days in private practice – still doing the work but without the treatment stagnating bureaucracy.

When I’m not working, I spend time with my husband and my fur baby, “Bear.”
